Your home is your sanctuary. Whether you live in a city centre flat or a detached house in the countryside, the security of your property should never be compromised.
At M&C Locksmiths, we don’t just change locks; we provide peace of mind. We work with homeowners and landlords across the UK to install high-quality locking systems that meet the strict requirements of modern insurance policies. If your lock is stiff, faulty, or simply outdated, our engineers can recommend and fit the perfect replacement on the spot.
It is the golden rule of home security: when you move in, change the locks. Even if all the keys were "handed over," you can never be sure who else has a spare copy—previous tenants, estate agents, or builders.
Many homeowners are unaware that their home insurance policy often contains a specific clause regarding door locks. Most insurers require that all external doors be fitted with locks that meet British Standard 3621 (BS3621).
How to check: Look for the "Heart Shape" Kitemark symbol on the faceplate of your lock. If it’s not there, your home might not be covered in the event of a burglary.
M&C Locksmiths specialises in upgrading sub-standard locks to BS3621 compliant deadlocks and sash locks. We ensure your security meets the rigorous standards demanded by the industry.
The majority of modern homes in the UK use uPVC or composite doors. While convenient, standard "Euro cylinders" found in these doors can be vulnerable to a technique known as "lock snapping."
We supply and fit Anti-Snap, Anti-Bump, and Anti-Drill cylinders (such as the TS007 3-Star standard). These high-security cylinders are designed to withstand brute force attacks, keeping the intruder out even if they attempt to snap the lock.
uPVC Doors: If your multi-point locking mechanism has failed and the door won't open, we can open it without damage and replace the gearbox mechanism.
Fed up with carrying a heavy bunch of keys? We can install a "Keyed Alike" system for your home. This allows you to open your front door, back door, and patio doors using a single key, without compromising on security. Ask our engineer about this service when you call.
